2001 October: The Mercedes Benz F 400 Carving (Carving as in skiing) is a concept sports car, i.e. just for show. It is claimed to achieve 1.28g when cornering.

Experimental features on the F 400 include electronic steering (steer by wire), and active hydropneumatic suspension: The wheels lean into corners by up to 20° to help the inside edges of the tyres bite.
