"This is a Unix system. I know this." - Lex.

The nice, cuddly millionaire (Richard Attenborough) wants to spread joy by opening the theme park to end theme parks - one filled with live dinosaurs created by the best genetic engineers that money can buy, from DNA preserved in amber. Unfortunately he reckons without human greed in the shape of a computer programmer with a bad coca-cola habit (talk about stereotypes) who plans to sell the secret to the bad guys. The silly man turns off the computer security system to do his deal which leads to all sorts of trouble as T-rex and the even deadlier raptors break out.

It looks as though it is all over for the good guys when the raptors break into the control block looking for lunch. Fortunately the little girl, Lex (Ariana Richards), knows exactly what to do, "This is a Unix system. I know this." She restarts the security system and they all live, if not happily at least a little more wisely than before.

The crucial scene features a Silicon-Graphics work-station running the 3D file-system navigator `FSN'

Oh yes, the special effects are very good. Note the Brontosaurs browsing on Eucalypts; was that really part of their diet? The reference to chaos theory seems a case of one buzz word too many. (There are some pointers to Molecular Biology on the www [here].)
