- August 2024:
You may have been redirected here
because Monash University closed down its
users.monash.edu.au web server including the Bioinformatics,
Computer-Science and Minimum Message Length (MML) bibliography
which was then at
users.monash.edu.au/~lloyd/tildeBIB/
You might be able to find what you are looking for in the box on the right.
- October 2024: A new version of the
bibliography was implemented
[here].
2014: Monash University closed down the www.csse.monash.edu.au web server but provided "redirections" to user pages on users.monash.edu.au – central management taking control of most web servers.
1993: HTML was released[*] and browsers and web-servers rapidly became a more popular alternative to ftp for sharing information. Computer Science at Monash University soon had a web-server, www.cs.monash.edu.au, later www.csse.monash.edu.au, e.g., for sharing technical reports and open-source software and supplementary material for published papers.
1990: The Dawkins "reforms" led to the amalgamation of Monash University and the Chisolm Institute of Technology (Caulfield). The Monash 'Faculty of Information Technology' (FIT) was formed principally from the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department (CSSE, Monash) and various computing departments at Caulfield.
1967: Chris Wallace was appointed Chair of 'Information Science', later 'Computer Science' (CS), later 'Computer Science and Software Engineering' (CSSE).
