2010: VW, which owned a significant share in MAN and the majority of Scania, announced plans to combine Scania and MAN trucks.
2011 November: VW had acquired more than half of Man.
 
2011, December 12: Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia was selected by the Australian Government as preferred tenderer for up to 2,700 protected and unprotected medium and heavy trucks as part of Land 121, Project Overlander.
 
2013, October 24: Army newspaper gave more details of the new MAN trucks under Land 121 Phase 3B:
MAN 40M medium weight 4x4 (tipper, tray, tray+crane), D08 6-cyl., 240kW, 1250Nm, payload 5.5-6 tonnes (Unimog replacement).
MAN HX77 heavy vehicle 8x8 (load handling, tipper, tanker), D20 6-cyl., 324kW, 2100Nm, payload 15 tonnes (Mack replacement).
MAN HX81L heavy tractor 8x8 (various trailers), D28 V8, 500kW, 2700Nm, 130 tonnes train weight (S-liner replacement).
MAN HX58 medium recovery vehicle 6x6, D20 6-cyl., 6 tonnes underlift, 58.5 tonnes combination.
MAN SX45 heavy recovery vehicle 8x8, D20 6-cyl., 15 tonnes underlift, 40 tonnes combination.
 
2016 April: Delivery of the first 12 army trucks from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia.
