1996: Marshall Specialist Vehicles (Cambridge UK) won a contract from the British MOD to build from 600 to 1100 field ambulances. The winning ambulance was an eXtra Duty, i.e. uprated, LandRover Defender XD130. ![]() 1996 XD130 The LandRover beat Steyr's Pinzgauer for the ambulance contract although the latter had earlier replaced the LandRover 101. |
