1884: The Rover Safety Cycle, recognisably a modern bicycle rather than a penny-farthing. 1933 Rover 10 [*] Rover 16 [*] 1948 Rover 75 [*] 1948: Rover created the Land-Rover 4×4. 1950 75 [*] Exploratory prototype estates of the 1958-67 P5 3-litre were built but not "progressed" [-Rover]. 1963 and 1965: A Rover/BRM Gas-Turbine car raced at Le-Mans.
1988: British Aerospace (BAe) acquired Rover Group. 1994: Rover Group sold to BMW. 2000: Rover sold off (to 'Phoenix') by BMW.
